EXPLORE DINING, DRINKS, AND SHOPPING ON A FREE TROLLEY!

Social Saturday: Support Local and Discover Downtown

You officially have plans the first Saturday of each month. Social Saturday is your ticket to a full day of fun in downtown and uptowne High Point.

Featuring a free hop-on, hop-off trolley running from noon to 10 PM, you’ll get to try out the top local shops, restaurants, breweries, and entertainment spots across our vibrant social districts. Whether you're grabbing brunch, exploring unique boutiques, sipping craft cocktails, or enjoying live music, Social Saturday makes it easy to connect with friends and family — no driving required!

  • Is the trolley free?
Yes! The Social Saturday trolley is completely free to ride. You can hop on and off as many times as you'd like between noon and 10 PM, making it easy to explore the downtown and uptown areas in High Point without worrying about parking or driving.
  • What are the stops?
The Downtown High Point Social Saturday trolley makes about 10 stops throughout the downtown and uptowne areas, with slight variations each month. The route runs continuously from noon to 10 PM, so you can expect a trolley to arrive at each stop approximately every 20 minutes. Check our website and social media before each event for the latest stop locations and a full route map!
  • What are the participating locations?
The list of participating locations varies each month, but you can expect a mix of local shops, restaurants, breweries, bars, and entertainment venues within the social districts and surrounding downtown/uptowne areas. Each month brings new places to explore, special deals, and unique experiences! Keep an eye on our official website and social media for the latest lineup of participating businesses.
  • Can I bring a drink on the trolley with me?
Yes, alcoholic beverages are allowed on the trolley during Social Saturday, as well as within the designated Downtown and Uptowne Social Districts. Please remember to drink responsibly, be mindful of others, and help maintain a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere so that everyone can enjoy the event. Please note that some of our stops are outside of the social districts, so you need to stay on the trolley until your cup is empty in those areas (please ask the trolley driver if you are unsure). Cheers to a fun and safe Social Saturday!
  • What is a social district?
The Social Districts are designated public areas where you can purchase alcoholic beverages in special cups from participating establishments and enjoy them while exploring nearby shops, entertainment, and public spaces. Established in March 2022 within the Catalyst District, High Point now has two separate Social Districts: Downtown District and Uptowne District. These areas create a lively, walkable environment where you can sip, shop, and socialize while experiencing the best of our local businesses. Look for signs marking the Social District boundaries and be sure to follow all city guidelines while enjoying your drink! For more information, visit: https://www.highpointnc.gov/2568/Social-District
  • What are the rules of the social districts in High Point?
Rules and Regulations of the Downtown, High Point and Uptowne, High Point social districts: Visit any participating ABC-permitted establishment and request a High Point Social District Cup to enjoy your beverage while strolling the district between 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Look for branded Social District signs and decals to make sure that area businesses are participating in the social district before you enter into an establishment. Be sure to stay within the designated area depicted by the Social District boundary signage. Beverages must be purchased in High Point Social District cups to leave an establishment, and cups must stay within the district's boundaries. Signage indicates those boundaries. Properly dispose of your High Point Social District cup when empty. Enjoy and Drink responsibly! For more information and a list of all participating locations, visit: https://www.highpointnc.gov/2568/Social-District
  • Do I need to schedule a pickup time on the trolley?
No, you do not need to schedule a pickup time. The Social Saturday trolley runs continuously in a loop from noon to 10 PM on the first Saturday of every month (unless otherwise noted). You can expect a trolley to arrive at each stop approximately every 20 minutes. Since the trolley is an extension of the Social District, you’re welcome to bring your labeled Social District cup on board while you ride.
  • Do I need to make reservations for any stops?
No reservations are needed for the trolley, but some restaurants or businesses may require reservations for dining or special experiences. We recommend checking with individual businesses ahead of time if you have a specific spot in mind.
  • Do the local businesses feature specials?
Yes! On Social Saturday, many local businesses offer special deals and promotions, which vary each month based on what each business chooses to feature. Be sure to check our website and social media for the latest updates on participating locations and their exclusive specials.
  • Where can I park?
Downtown High Point has free street parking throughout the city and public parking lots and garages near the trolley stops.
